Dr. Mary Darden-Robinson is a private sector therapist with 20+ years of experience serving the Hampton Roads, VA area in the mental health and substance use fields. As a clinician, Dr. Darden-Robinson emphasizes overall wellness by addressing everyday life situations while supporting adolescents and families with rediscovering their personal resilience. Additionally, her therapeutic style is eclectic with a foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
With an emphasis on entities such as healthy relationships, self-care, depression, as well as families and adolescents, she has a robust clinical background that consists of providing clinical treatment and therapeutic services. Additionally, she is SAMHSA GAINS Center-trained as a facilitator for the "How Being Trauma-Informed Improves Criminal Justice System Responses" seminar. She is also a Master Trainer for the A.C.E. Interface Program and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Lastly, Dr. Darden-Robinson is a Virginia Board of Counseling approved clinical supervisor for Residents in Counseling as well as L.S.A.T.P., L.M.F.T., C.S.A.C., and CSAC-A trainees.
Dr. Darden-Robinson received a Bachelor of Science in Human Services Counseling with a minor in Psychology from Old Dominion University. Additionally, she holds a Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Norfolk State University and a Doctor of Psychology from Walden University.
